I liked OBLIVION despite hearing a lot of middling comments about it. The SciFi snob in me was definitely getting pessimistic once the mystery unraveled but in the end I was satisfied - it wasn't particularly original, just well played. If anything it didn't really need the voice overs - exposition at times felt extremely redundant. And this was another instance when I felt the movie was tipping its hat to game cinematics (rather than the other way around). Perhaps it was the thick layering of music or the stages of plot reveal?
