Believe it or not I didn't go to Japan last month to shoot food porn, but rather I did the cinematography for a Canon Cameras promo that featured their new XF205 camera (which premiered at NAB Show 2014). The camera promo was directed and cut by my man Hiro Matsuzaki, with documentary footage directed by Ben Matsunaga, gaffed by Kenji Morita with lighting tech Yoshitomo Miyanaga, and starred Loïc Garnier with original scores (promo & documentary) by the great Daichi Yoshida. It was a blast touring with the talented staff and crew: b-cam op Mantaroh Muramoto, AC Takanori Yano, production manager Yugo Ikeda, coordinator Mika Yamashita, BTS Kozo Takahashi and e-Motion Photographers, set photographerSeiha Yamaguchi, makeup Fumiko Kajimoto. We toured the Shimane region and filmed the spectacular Iwami-Kagura theatrical performances. And of course the food... C'est Magnifique!
