Back in 2013 during my film festival run, the camera choices were nice and varied that year but the writing was on the wall was that Arri Alexa was going to be the top choice for Indie filmmakers, and being that the Oscars are dominated by Indie films (well, pseudo-Indies with Studio backing) Alexa sweeps the cinematography category this year (with GRAND BUDAPEST being the only one shot on film). That said, I imagine RED cameras (and film) are prevalent in bigger budget and blockbuster Studio films which don't have a chance in hell to attract Oscar attention. #facebook
