Finally watched Takashi Yamazaki's ETERNAL ZERO. It started out a bit melodramatic and seemingly idealistic but by the 3rd act there was actually a really great dramatic twist. As always, Gaku was great. The CG shots were not perfect but they did a commendable job selling the fighter plane skirmishes. Now I get the fears of Nationalist sentiment that might arise from the subject matter but I really don't think this film was remotely about any of that. If you want to see aggressive and unrestrained propaganda bull-shit, watch LONDON IS FALLING - another film I saw recently. from Facebook
