Man, I seriously adore Netflix Japan's continued love affair with food dramas, 1st with "Midnight Diner" and now with "Samurai Gourmet." Their presentations are simple yet culturally deep, the stories are so saccharine sweet yet intimate, the food exquisitely shot yet completely unsophisticated. Every episode revels in nostalgia, passive aggressiveness, and bygone machismo in an overly sincere way and it's great. from Facebook
