The unfortunate reality is that with the book cover they used to market DRAGON TEETH and of course the name of the author, it's hard not to compare this latest book with the likes of Crichton's mega success in JURASSIC PARK and in doing so this book can be somewhat lacking. It does take 2 high concept notions and smashes them together but it doesn't rise into greatness because it binds itself a little too rigidly to reality (much like PIRATE LATITUDES). So dinosaurs don't come to life and historical characters act their part as humans but not as fantastic legends which is not to say that's bad but you'll need to keep your expectations in check. #sseig
