In the Family

We checked out the film In the Family last night at the SFIAAFF and it was epic in the most intimate way. Regional dialects and accents are a curiosity to me (Coen Bros come to mind), and actor/director Patrick Wang takes a seemingly simple Tennessee accents and paints a character so profoundly charming and stalwort that you just want to inherit the pains of his predicament.
In the town of Martin, Tennessee, Chip Hines, a precocious six year old, has only known life with his two dads, Cody and Joey. And a good life it is. When Cody dies suddenly in a car accident, Joey and Chip struggle to find their footing again. Just as they begin to, Cody's will reveals that he name...
